Our Proven Process
From First Call to Final Cleanup
Every home is different, but our disciplined process ensures long-lasting results. Whether it’s exterior excavation or interior water control, we follow a detailed step-by-step systems that includes documenting the work, protecting your property, and exceeding expectations.
1
Diagnosis & Custom Recommendations
We start by inspecting your home’s areas of concern individually. Based on our findings, we provide custom recommendations tailored to your specific needs. If excavation is required, our team will take detailed notes and drawings to prepare an accurate quote. Most waterproofing projects include a 15-year workmanship warranty, backed by over 50 years of trusted experience.
2
Prepare the Site
Before digging begins, we carefully remove any landscaping around the exterior perimeter of your home where excavation will take place. Existing topsoil is preserved and stored for reuse at the end of the project.
3
Excavation
We excavate the soil down to the footers, load it into dump trucks, and haul it away. During this step, we also remove any underground downspouts and your footer drains (drain tile). Whenever possible, we use machinery, but we also specialize in hand digging for less invasive work.
4
Wash & Seal the Foundation
After excavation, we wash down the foundation and repair any cracks using hydraulic cement. A thin coat of cement parging is applied to unprotected areas for added strength and protection.
5
Apply Waterproofing Membrane
Once the cement has dried, we apply an elastomeric waterproofing membrane. This advanced coating replaces the original foundation tar and provides superior flexibility, durability, and crack-bridging capabilities to protect your home for years to come.
6
Install Drain Pipes
We install a 4″ perforated PVC drain pipe at the trench’s lowest point, along with cleanouts for future inspection and maintenance. Additional 4″ non-perforated pipes are installed for downspout drainage, ensuring proper water flow away from your foundation.
7
Inspect, Sewer Jet & Backfill
Before closing the trench, we confirm water flow by sewer jetting and inspecting pipes with a sewer camera. Then we backfill the trench with #57 washed gravel to 18″ below ground level and reinstall the original topsoil for a seamless finish.
8
Ongoing Maintenance
To keep your system performing at its best, periodic cleaning and inspection are recommended. This prevents roots, leaves, and debris from causing blockages and reduces the risk of sewer backups or basement seepage.
